Worship Descriptions
Our worship services are joyful and spirit filled. All are welcome. Come as you are—it is a judgment free zone. Both services offer many opportunities for leadership and involvement. Come explore where your gifts lie. The services last about an hour.
Communion is offered at both services. All are welcome at the table of the Lord. We offer both wine and grape juice in an individual cup or intinction of either a wafer or gluten free wafer.
Sunday 8:00am in person is a traditional service often using a sung liturgy from the ELW hymnal. Our musician uses the organ, piano and keyboard to add depth and beauty to our worship. While some might consider this service style to be formal, it isn’t stuffy.
Sunday 10:00am (9:30am in summer) is a more casual service led with music from our praise team featuring both contemporary and traditional songs.

WEDDINGS
Marriage is one of the ministries of this faith community. Weddings at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, ELCA, are worship services filled with joy, hope, and good news.
The ministry of a wedding celebration begins with the couple before the ceremony. Pastor Steve is honored to meet with couples to plan their wedding, strengthen their relationship, pray together, and walk with them before and throughout their marriage.
Mount Olive is a beautiful venue for celebrating the union of two people in the name of Jesus Christ. The sanctuary can accommodate approximately 150 people. It is a warm and welcoming setting for a wedding.
When selecting a date and time, it is essential to check with the pastor before finalizing plans.
FUNERALS
Funeral services are a ministry offered at Mount Olive to members and non-members alike, to comfort those who mourn and remind the faithful of the promise of resurrection. At the time of death, when families are in deepest shock, it is difficult to make the many arrangements needed for a funeral service. Pastor Steve can help by working with individuals or families to select hymns and scriptures that provide the most comfort and provide pastoral care during a time of mourning.
Funerals for church members are typically held at the church. Non-member funerals can be held at Mount Olive, but it is more typical for such an event to be held at another location. All are welcome.
When selecting a date and time, it is essential to check with the pastor before finalizing plans.
Special Services
Throughout the year, Mount Olive celebrates special moments in our faith lives such as All Saints Sunday, Blessing of the Animals, Blessing of the Backpacks for teachers and students, Graduate recognition, and other faith exploration milestones. After these services, we enjoy coming together in the Fellowship Hall for snacks and community.
