A Message from Pastor Steve

My Name is Pastor Steve Bogie, and I am excited to be able to walk with you, and get to know you, as we proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ together. The call to be a pastor is an exciting vocation, because one gets to walk with faithful people and build relationships with them along the way. It is an honor to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ with the good people of Mount Olive.

My pastoral heart flows through my preaching, worship, and teaching. I believe that my pastoral care is the greatest gift that I possess and is where the Holy Spirit can be most perceived in my ministry. Yet, music and God’s word are very much part of my life, as well, and are gifts that I love to share with others.

If you feel like having a conversation, you will find that I am approachable and love to laugh. My laugh is loud, but infectious, at most times, in a good way. It is hoped that you will notice my pastoral heart, and that I care deeply for people and their spiritual needs. However, there will be times that you will find that I am very human.

Generally, I am most content when building relationships with people doing God’s life-giving work together. The miraculous comes forth in such times of working together towards God’s will and purpose for our lives and for creation. 

This is the beginning of a beautiful journey together. However, my family and I can give thanks for your care, support, and love without conditions in this short time we have been together. Thank you, dear people of Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
