Baptism
Baptism is a wonderful gift from God where God claims us as his own and promises to never let us go. Baptism is a gift, no matter what age you are. You do not need to be a member in order to be baptized at Mount Olive. Please contact the church office for more information or to schedule a baptism. As a gift to families, Mount Olive includes a copy of the Spark Story Bible to the newly baptized. Reading the Bible together is a wonderful way to grow together in faith.
Faith Explorers: Communion
At Mt. Olive, all are welcome to receive communion or a blessing at the table of the Lord. Children (and adults) are offered the opportunity to explore the sacrament of Holy Communion during a mini-session on this wonderful sacrament. Together with their parents, grandparents, or another significant adult, the younger students learn why we have communion, and what God does for us through this gift of God’s Grace.
This course exploring communion culminates in the participants typically receiving their first communion during Holy Week on Maundy Thursday. Invitations to the class are sent to families with 3rd graders. If you are an adult or have an older child who has not participated in this class or a younger child who you feel is ready to receive communion instruction, please contact the MTO office regarding participation in the session.
