Cradle Roll

As a way to help parents share their faith with their children, families with newborns through age 3 are included in mailings with age appropriate materials to help nurture faith at home.

Entrance into Faith Explorers: Sunday School

As your children grow, Mount Olive supports families by offering our Faith Explorers: Sunday School during September through May. If families choose to participate, Sunday School is offered for 3 year olds through 5th grade as our SS faith exploration guides walk alongside parents in telling the story of God’s love, forgiveness and grace. Children entering Sunday School are presented with either a Spark Story Bible or a Spark Book of Psalms as appropriate.

SALSA through the Bible

Come and explore the wonders of God’s Word as we “SALSA” through the bible! Third grade families will get an official invitation, but all are welcome to join the SALSA exploration team. This hour-long, adult and child experience is held in the Fellowship Hall on a Sunday during the month of September. Then, during a Sunday School opening, we will SALSA and celebrate with the families as they present their children with their very own grownup Bible.

Faith Explorers: Affirmation of Baptism

Our Affirmation of Baptism (AoB) is a three-year opportunity for 6th through 8th grade students, their families, and other interested participants to explore their faith using teaching, discussions, and experiences involving the Bible, Martin Luther’s Small Catechism, and faith in daily life. The program often begins when students are in their 6th grade year and we meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. with a dinner for all family members, September through April. Please contact Cindy Dobberke at cindy.dobberke@mountolive-elca.net for further information.

We also offer cross-generational service and fellowship opportunities for all AoB participants and families. Watch for further info details on the website, weekly emails, bulletins, and in the newsletter.

Faith Explorers: Vacation Bible Camp

Vacation Bible Camp (VBC) is an awesome community and faith building experience for three-year-olds through 5th graders during one week in the summer. We typically meet for three hours a day.  The bible stories, songs, skits, crafts, and games help us all learn about God’s amazing love as shown through the life of Jesus. Older youth and adults help make this a great time for sharing our discipleship stories and exploring faith together!

In 2024, we used Illustrated Ministries: Compassion Camp: Be Kind. Be Loved. Be You. Kids, their families, and our VBC Faith Explorer team explored what it meant to have compassion for others, ourselves, and the world.

In 2025, we look forward to meeting July 28th through August 1st from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. More details to follow.

Faith Explorers: High School

Our High School students meet periodically throughout the year for faith discussion, service and fellowship. Since 2012, with the exception of 2020, we have explored faith together during a summer High School accompaniment trip. In 2024, we stayed rooted in the Midwest, helping us grow into a better understanding of our local neighbors. We served at Miss Carly’s in Rockford, Illinois and other sites in the Mukwonago and Milwaukee area including Street Angels and Just One More Ministry.

In 2023, we traveled to Savannah, Georgia to revisit the site of our first summer High School mission trip with the Youthworks organization.
