Kids’ Time Every Sunday

Dear Mount Olive parents and all those young at heart, please join us for Kids’ Time every Sunday following online worship via Zoom.

Let us know if anyone in your family has had a birthday in the past week that we can help celebrate.

Knotty Knitters

The Knotty Knitters are meeting again weekly in the Mount Olive Fellowship Hall on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon for anyone who feels comfortable coming in person.  They are a group that invites anyone interested to join them in the church library on Friday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12 noon to knit prayer shawls and such, share stories, and have goodies.  All are welcome…no experience necessary.  If you have questions, please call Betty Hinkelman at 262-662-0205 or Inge Adams at 262-470-3284.

COVID-19: Life for Today and Hope for Tomorrow

Rick Steves, guidebook author and travel TV host, the Rev. Elizabeth A. Eaton presiding bishop of the EvangelicPal Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and the Rev. Shelley Bryan Wee, bishop of the Northwest Washington Synod of the ELCA, invite you to a virtual benefit – the first of its kind – for ELCA World Hunger. This Zoom virtual event will take place Thursday, September 24th, 7 p.m. central time. Our goal is to raise $250,000 to confront hunger in the time of COVID-19.

We are called by God to share hope in this time of challenge. Join us to face this global hunger crisis head-on, and continue to move toward a just world where all are fed. Please spread the word about this extraordinary event among your congregations and communities. Register now.

Mount Olive’s 100th Anniversary

Mount Olive’s 100th Anniversary is May 8, 2021!  We have had two informal Zoom brainstorming sessions to present ideas for celebrating our 100th anniversary.  As you can imagine, we have a laundry list of options.  One thought is that given our anniversary is on Saturday, May 8th, having a celebration on Sunday, May 9th (Mother’s Day), might not be the best plan moving forward.  An idea that is gaining traction is to combine our celebration with Rally Day on September 12th as a kick-off for our 2nd Century.  This would allow us to have a series of small events throughout the summer and build on “A Summer of Renewal” and giving “God the Glory.”  We welcome all thoughts and ideas and invite everyone’s participation.  As we progress, we will be reaching out to members for their active involvement.  Follow-up meetings will be held in the near future.

Food Pantry October Needs:  Dish and laundry soap.

Please Let Us Know:  If you, a family member, or a friend would like to have a visit from the pastor, please notify the church office or Pastor Scot.  We rely on you to keep us informed so that our ministry with you can continue:  262.363.8251, mto@mountolive-elca.net, or pastorscot@mountolive-elca.net.
