THE YEAR OF LUKE: We again begin from the beginning, Genesis, and read how the gospel of God has been proclaimed in the world throughout history. This year’s Gospel is Luke. A main focus of Luke's Gospel is the nature of the salvation that Jesus Christ provides. Because Jesus encounters a wide variety of people in Luke, this Gospel offers a glimpse into the different facets of salvation--its spiritual, physical, and social dimensions. Because Jesus speaks many parables in Luke, this Gospel also becomes a source for deep reflection about the nature of God's reign and the ways of living faithfully in this world. May we again be surprised and changed by God’s Word for the world.
ADULT EDUCATION…meets on Sundays at 9:15 a.m. in the Library starting today. The Adult Ed Team will be exploring various books of the Bible and how they address the religious, moral, ethical, and social issues faced by Lutheran Christians today. All are welcome…no experience necessary! SUNDAY SCHOOL for 3 year olds thru 5th grade is held on Sundays at 9:15 in the Sanctuary.
WEDNESDAY LENTEN WORSHIPS…will center on a series of short videos by various authors and scholars, pastors and professors, as they reflect on their own lives lived on this side of the resurrection. What does it mean to live the Resurrected Life? How does that affect not only us, but also our world? The answer to this question involves our Lenten journey into the tomb and an emergence out of it. Please join us for soup supper at 6 p.m. and worship at 7 p.m.: Wednesday, March 22nd – “Something New” by Miroslav Volf; Wednesday, March 29th – “All the Way Down” by Danielle Shroyer; and Wednesday, April 5th – “This Is Not The End” by Dwight Peterson
